Scrum - a tool for large projects
Definition of Scrum
Scrum is one of the best-known agile methods in software development. It is used to successfully implement larger software projects in particular. Due to the high complexity of some projects, these can become a seemingly unsolvable Herculean task. It seems difficult to develop a precise plan according to which monumental software projects are executed. With the application of smaller intermediate steps, the entire development process is greatly simplified.
Techniques of the SCRUM method
In order to ensure the step-by-step execution and coordination of projects, certain techniques are used in the approach:
- Transparent presentation
Where do we stand? Every major development step is clearly documented for the team in meetings. The best way to do this is on a scrum board using a burndown chart. - Ongoing diagnosis
Is the next step the right one? It is checked whether both the plan and the product
Product meet the requirements. - Necessary adjustments
If the advanced project does not meet the requirements, the participants make an adjustment.

Scrum roles
- The Scrum Master is the person who checks the entire development process for compliance, removes stumbling blocks and introduces rules so that the process can succeed. The master ensures that the development team works as efficiently and smoothly as possible. He is also the moderator of the meetings. The Scrum Master supports the entire team at all work levels.
- Unlike the master, the product owner is responsible for determining what the product should ultimately look like. He defines the features that the product should have and the order in which the development team works on them.
- The developers are responsible for implementing the requirements defined by the product owner. An excellent characteristic is that the team members are usually allowed to make very free decisions in their area of competence and do not need the approval of the Scrum Master. The team should consist of three to ten members. If there are more team members, they are divided into smaller groups that communicate with each other.

Scrum board magnets - high-quality and practical
Scrum requires many small meetings in order to clearly visualize the development status. With the magnets from Schallenkammer, the scrum master can easily show the daily burndown chart without having to cross anything out or use new paper. The magnets are simply moved from one meeting to the next. With the GraviFlex® magnetic sticky notes, visualization on your scrum board becomes child's play.
Would you like a special shape or color for your magnet? We will be happy to cut your desired magnets to size for you!
Burndown chart
A burndown chart shows the work still to be done compared to the time remaining. The time is visualized on the X-axis of the burndown chart and the work still to be done on the Y-axis. The self-adhesive magnetic sheets from Schallenkammer are perfectfor the burndown chart . The master can cut these to size as required and use them on the scrum board in team meetings.
